Study Hall Rules
In order to ensure student success, a Study Hall policy has been created. The following are the Study Hall Expectations and Consequences:
1. Enter the classroom QUICKLY and QUIETLY.
a. Students are expected to have their yellow tracking papers out, a book
and/or homework, as well as a pen or pencil.
Consequence: If students are constantly being a disruption, parents will be
notified and any other paper notifications will be issued based on the incident.
2. Class instructions will be given immediately after the bell. Students will be
reminded about any assignments due, upcoming projects, tests or expectations for the day.
a. I will be more than happy to talk with a student one-on-one after the entire class is settled and working.
b. I DO NOT sign agendas the first 15 minutes of class.
3. When instructed, students are expected to silently and independently work on their homework (based on priority), projects, study for tests, or anything else told to the student.
a. Students are only allowed to work together when given permission or if the assignment is a group project.
Consequence: Failure to follow my partner/group expectations, students will be sent back to independently finish the work at their assigned desk- without arguing.
4. If students DO NOT complete their homework during Study Hall, they will be
assigned Lunch Opportunity--Lunch Opportunity is NOT an option.
Consequence: Failure to attend will result in a Parent Awareness/ Referral.
5. NO i-pods or cell phones are allowed in class or on campus
Consequence: Phones will be confiscated and given to the security office.
Students will be issued a Parent Awareness or a Referral for repeat
offenders.
6. Students are NOT to clean up early. Students must work the ENTIRE time until they have been instructed by me, or another teacher in charge, to begin packing up.
a. If students finish their work early, they may:
i. Silent Read
ii. Study for any test
iii. Work on their quarter project
STUDENT
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Obtain ALL missing assignments from English, Math, Science, and/or Social Studies teachers.

Bring ALL assignments, pencil, pen, and paper to Study Hall everyday.

Complete the study hall CLASS TRACKER LOG which reminds students what they need to complete for their classes.

Track the completion of missing assignments.

Turn the completed assignment(s) in to the teacher(s) who assigned it.

6. When all missing assignments are completed, work on current homework, study for a test, or quietly read.​
PARENT
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Encourage the student to do assignments in a timely manner.

Keep track of assignments and completion by looking at your child’s CLASS TRACKER LOG that should be under their study hall tab in their binder.

Communicate regularly with teachers regarding assignments and grades.

Always ASK to see your child’s homework when they say they have completed their assignments.

Communicate with all teachers if you ever have any questions or concerns.
MRS. BOHN'S
RESPONSIBILITIES:

​Always be ready to help students.

Guide students through being an organized and responsible student.

Track completion of the CLASS TRACKER LOG on a daily basis while the student is in Study Hall.

Have paper, pens, and pencils available if students need them.
-
If after an appropriate amount of correction or warning a student continues to disrupt class or keep other students from working, write a referral and send the student to the office.
